About
Geauga Family Farms grows healthy foods for healthy people from healthy soil. It's their goal to provide certified organic produce to the Northeast Ohio community. The group formed to create a more sustainable approach to supporting one another in the farming way of life. The inclusion of multiple farms means a wider variety of produce is available for you.
The farmers run a CSA, short for Community Supported Agriculture. Members of the CSA pay up front for organically grown produce they will receive weekly during the 20-week growing season - from May to October.
By becoming a CSA member, you can enjoy the tastes, smells and textures of truly fresh vegetables. Vegetables are harvested, packed into CSA boxes, and ready for your pickup within 24 hours at convenient locations in several different area locations.
The season begins in early spring with tender greens, lettuces, green onions, radishes and rhubarb, continuing into summer with tomatoes, sweet corn, peppers, beans, potatoes, watermelons and cantaloupes, and winds up in late fall with cabbage and squash. Boxes include in-season fruits such as organic strawberries and raspberries. Also included are conventionally grown fruits and berries such as blueberries, peaches, plums, apples and pears.
Other farm products are available at additional cost, including eggs, cheeses, maple syrup, honey, bread and baked goods. Also, poultry - chicken and turkey - are available by special order and to be picked up at the farm yourself. Grass-fed beef and lamb can be delivered. Order forms for additional products will be available at drop-off sites.
Being a member of Geauga Family Farms CSA is like having a garden in your backyard – without the weeding! For more information, call Laura Dobson at 440-478-9849.
