A & P Farms, established in 2007, is family owned and operated and located in Gallant AL. We are approximately 25 miles northeast of Birmingham, AL, near Horse Pens 40 and Camp Sumatanga. In 2007, we planted fruit and vegetables on one acre of land and attended two farmers' markets. In 2008, we doubled in size to two acres and four markets. By 2009, we had expanded the farm to eight acres of land and five farmers' markets. 2010 will bring more expansion, including more U-Pick strawberry fields and over 100 more peach and nectarine trees in our fruit orchard. In addition to the cantaloupe, corn, cucumbers, eggplant, okra, onions, peppers, potatoes, squash, strawberries, tomatoes (including heirloom) and watermelon we grow, we have small quantities of blackberries, blueberries, muscadine grapes, and peaches.
When time and weather permit, we plant beans and peas. We are a small operation and work hard from dawn to dusk, but we love it. We have very high standards for the quality of fruit and vegetables we sell, and we think you'll agree. Please look us up at the Farmers Markets! We look forward to meeting you!
