Close your eyes and enjoy the sounds German music, the sweet scent of pine and the aroma of German food. You'll be transported to the hills of Bavaria. But open your eyes! You are in a special place in Camino California's Apple Hill district, the Bavarian Hills Apple Orchard.
The Gasthaus is wonderful for banquets, wedding receptions, dinner or lunch meetings.
If you prefer outdoor cooking, there is a picnic area, and a patio with a large commercial barbecue. In addition to banquets and special occasions, we operate as a German American foods restaurant open to the public.
Anytime of the year, among the apple blossoms, fragrant pines, blue skies and Bavarian hospitality, it's hard to find a more relaxed yet accessible meeting place or party location.
Inge brings the best of Germany to Apple Hill. She prepares traditional home cooked German food, fresh sausages, German potato salad, sauerkraut, and schnitzel (boneless and skinless chicken breast) along with other German specialties. For desserts Inge serves Apple Strudel, Apple Almond Cheese Tortes, Apple Pies and many other wonderful treats, all home made and baked fresh in her ovens. Inge also serves American food with specially smoked meats from two pellet barbecues.
On weekends and holidays you will find crafters with hand made items. In the Applehaus, we have farm fresh fruit, soft pretzels and other goodies such as our special hot caramel sauce ladled over fresh apple wedges.
Bavarian Hills Orchard has a Winter Celebration. Starting with Thanksgiving weekend and continuing until we close for the season, we serve hot spiced cider, homemade soup with 1/2 smoked meat sandwich in addition to traditional German and American food. Enjoy these specialties while relaxing in front of a warm, cozy fireplace. Dine in or take out.
