Why does your milk taste so fresh?
Our milk is much fresher than what you buy in the store. It only takes us 24-36 hours to get milk straight from the farm to you. We process and package our products each day - and give you same day delivery - so your milk is always fresh.
Where does Smith Brothers milk come from?
100% of our milk comes from local Washington cows. By using local cows we can ensure they are given the best care possible and in return they give us great tasting milk.
Is Smith Brothers Farms milk free of artificial growth hormones?
Yes, our milk is free of artificial (recombinant) growth hormones. All of our milk comes from local cows so we can guarantee none of them are treated with any artificial growth hormones (rBST).
Does Smith Brothers Farms package their milk in glass bottles?
No, we quit packaging in glass bottles several years ago. Smith Brothers Farms packages their products in paper cartons and on request in plastic gallon jugs.
Is it true, milk in clear plastic containers is not as nutritional as milk in a paper carton?
Yes, scientific studies show that milk in clear plastic containers can lose a significant portion of vitamin A and riboflavin, destroyed by light exposure. Plastic containers also tend to give the milk a flat, oxidized flavor. Paper cartons block out 96% of the light with no flavor change. That’s why Smith Brothers packages your milk and dairy products in paper cartons. Your milk will retain more nutritional value and will taste better too! (Study by Cornell University, College of Agriculture and Life Sciences)
Are your milk cartons recyclable?
Milk cartons are recyclable, but currently not all recycling collection services accept them. The number of areas that accept milk cartons for recycling is increasing each year. Your recycling collection service can tell you if they accept milk cartons. We have been informed that Seattle Public Utilities accepts rinsed milk cartons for recycling.
