We will be using sustainable, organic, permaculture and biointensive planting techniques to raise a wide variety of vegetables and herbs on a quarter acre plot.
We are located on an 80 acre piece of land that had once been a dairy farm, and then an alternative school. We also board horses and grow hay for them. If our micro-farm proves successful, we will consider expanding the gardens so that we can grow more food, for more people!
When we began our micro farm and CSA, we had previously just had our personal garden in the space. To help make the farm planning easier, we created a calculator to help us determine how much food we could grow in our given space, how many people it could potentially feed and a lot of other details.
