These unique vineyards are situated in the southeast corner of the prestigious Sonoma Coast AVA and are currently producing Pinot Noir, Pinot Gris, Merlot, Sauvignon Blanc and a few other varietals. Typically enshrouded in early morning coastal fog, bathed in intense midday heat and cooled by late afternoon Pacific breezes, the vineyard delivers delicious, ripe fruit while maintaining adequate acidity. With more than twice the annual rainfall of inland appellations, the region demands longer hang time to ripen the grapes. This forces the vines to struggle; keeping yields low and grape quality high.
Our Sauvignon Blanc was fermented cold in stainless steel tanks and then blended, filtered and pumped direct to bottling. The wine is packed with flavors of pears, tropical fruits and a buttery lemon zest - fresh, luscious and mouth-filling.
Our Sonoma County Pinot Gris has ripe-peach, pear and apricot infused aromas, with a luscious mouth-feel. Though easily an everyday wine, it also pairs well with sophisticated foods like Foie Gras, grilled prawns and poached fish.
This Merlot comes from our cool-region vineyards where we get deep colors, firm mouth-feel from the tannins and a good balance of fresh fruit and herbal character that makes it complex and interesting. We fine-tune the blend with a small amount of Cabernet Franc (raspberry) and Malbec (dry blueberry note) to create the finished wine.
The Adobe Creek Merlot pairs well with a meaty tomato dish, grilled lamb or fruit compote.
