Two Gals and a Garden is located 80 miles south of the Twin Cities (about 15 minutes west of Rochester). As of 5-5-10 we still have a few shares available. Email for more information. Our one-acre bio-intensive garden is located on a 288-acre dairy farm. Luddene Perry manages the garden that was started in the fall of 1998. We believe to grow healthy and fresh food we must use organic practices such as crop rotation, composting, green manure crops, and re-mineralization. Although we are not officially certified as organic, all our fruits and vegetables are grown without the use of synthetic insecticides, fungicides, or fertilizers. We use many non-hybrid and heirloom varieties that may be harder to grow, but usually are much tastier.
A share begins on Thursday, June 3rd and consists of a box of fresh produce, including some fruit, for each member for the following 18 weeks.
