Our Community Supported Agriculture(CSA) program is the bringing together of farmers (that’s us) and eaters (that’s you). Together we are a COMMUNITY that joins forces to experience a season of farming. You’ve heard the buzz words in all sorts of circles and you are probably wondering what the heck all the hubbub is about. It’s about FRESH, quality, locally grown produce direct from our fields, in the beautiful driftless region of SW Wisconsin, to you. By joining our CSA program, you are paying for a share of the farm’s bounty. Each week throughout the season, you will receive a box full of the essential vegetable goodness that we grow - sweet corn, tomatoes, potatoes, garlic, onions - all those vegetables that you know and love, with a few oddities thrown in to keep things interesting for you and your family. Once a week (or every other week - depending on your preference), your box will be delivered to your neighborhood. Along with a box of vegetables, you will recieve a weekly newsletter that has recipes, cooking tips, stories and information regarding organic vegetables.
Being part of a CSA is about more than just vegetables. As a CSA member you will be sharing the rewards as well as the risks of farming. The rewards include: enjoying the freshest produce available; knowing where, how and by whom your food is being produced; and having a direct connection with the people who produce your food. The risks include weather and pests. These risks can be pretty scary (as we found out in the 2007 flood) for small farmers like us, but they are more bearable when shared by a bunch of good folks who want to eat good and support the local food movement .
