Webster Farm Organics engages members in good eating and natural connections with the land and seasons on Salad Days, twenty weekly deliveries of fresh produce. On Salad Days, you will encounter great variety and flavors in our freshly picked produce and lots of ideas for simple preparation. We grow heirloom vegetables, hundreds of varieties of them, to give moderate amounts each week of many selections, awakening your senses and pleasing your palate. We have sized our weekly bags of produce for fresh eating more than cooking and storage. One to two adults can easily use an entire bag. The diversity encourages eaters of all ages. The sign-up form allows you to specify favorites and challenges so you get more of what you know you like and still get to try the varieties we grow from a wide range of cultures. Seeing us each week you can let us know more about your household preferences. Of course, we also like to surprise you.
At Webster Farm Organic we take a wholistic approach to the food web and the sustainability of all partners. We also commit to fun, creativity, and the enjoyment of the natural world, wonders we like to share. Members are invited to participate in the community life of the farm, to awaken the fields and wild creatures at Mayfest on May 15, and to tour the farm midsummer on Member Field Day. Any member may arrange to pick up at the farm any Friday evening between 5pm-7pm when we host local members. Throughout the season we offer Earth Camp, a program of sustainable living skills, food preservation, herb talks, composting, rainwater systems, organic gardening and lawn care, and guided nature walks in the farm's woods, meadows, and wetlands, and other events, designed for adults, youth, and children. Events are free or reduced cost for Salad Days members, but a small fee will be charged for interested others.
