The NMOCC is an independent agency of New Mexico State government, charged with regulation and promotion of organic agriculture. Regulation includes organic certification and registration, as well as oversight of enforcement and compliance with organic statutes. Promotional activities include workshops, conferences, speakers, informational tables and providing promotional materials as well as individual consultation with producers.
