Our heritage breed chickens (Buff Orpingtons, Barnevelders and Welsummers) are now laying pretty good. They are all young hens so we expect production to steadily increase. They are fed organic, SOY-free, feed and are allowed to free-range our 20 acres daily. We add apple cider vinegar and wood ash to their regime from time to time. Eggs are available at $3.50 a dozen. You must call or email to check availability.
Why do we insist omitting Soy from our layer feed? Soy products are harmful to chickens and humans. Studies have shown that soy can have damaging effects on the human body, even causing cancer cells to grow. ALL eggs bought from the grocery store contain a tremendous amount of soy (even organic eggs).
