Maggie Brook Sugarworks is operated by three generations of the Elder family. We tap 500 trees in a 142-acre sugarbush in the northeast corner of Starksboro. We are certified as managing our woods sustainably by Vermont Family Forests, our land is conserved as organic through the Vermont Land Trust, and our sugaring operation is certified by NOFA-Vermont.
We take a strong interest in current explorations of "terroir" in the distinct tastes of unblended syrup from different sugarbushes. We enjoy showing neighbors and customers around our forested property and sharing other aspects of the operation with them.
