Three Springs is a 15-member intentional community. We are located in the Sierra foothills, approximately 40 miles south of Yosemite, on 160 acres of rolling hills with oak, manzanita, and bull pine. Also on the property is the Whiskey Creek, which runs through a riparian area of ponderosa pine, cedar, waterfalls and swimming holes.
The garden, of approx. 1½ acres, began hand-tilled biointensive cultivation in 1996. The garden's main emphasis is our Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) program. In 2002 the garden extended its relationship with the community it grows for and became a Community Supported and Working Agriculture project (CSWA). It will be supported by the Three Springs Community and 12 members in the local area, all of whom will contribute 20 hrs. a season in the garden. Each week we harvest from the garden, and the members will receive a share of the produce.
Three Springs Apprenticeships offer a beautiful and creative place to learn biointensive gardening techniques in celebration with the Earth-how she touches your life, your body, and relationships with those around you.
