Field Trips
Pre-school, Kindergartens and Elementary School Field Trip
A hayride starting at the pavilion takes the students to the cranberry bog, At the bogs the kids get a chance to pick some berries and learn about one of New England's oldest agricultural crops. From the bog the wagons head to the pumpkin patch. Each student gets to pick a pumpkin of there choice (3lb average). The hayride ends back at the pavilion. A snack is provided and then students do the corn maze. This year it's a scavenger hunt based on agriculture in New England.
Middle School and Up:
Field Trips include: The trips for the older students is based more on team spirit and working together to solve problems. This is done through challenge laid out around the farm. Large groups are split into smaller teams. The teams name themselves and make a banner to represent their team. These teams travel around doing an activity at each stop. Example: sack races, corn husking, cranberry picking, pumpkin picking, corn maze scavenger hunt etc.. All supplies are included. We finish up with a snack and a beverage.
These field trips are a great way to show students where local foods come from and how a farm in New England works.
If you have a Brownie Troop, Girl Scout, Boy Scout, CYO or any other kind of organization or group and would like to schedule an outing to the farm you can.
These trips include a hayride, cranberry bog tour, pumpkin picking, corn maze, bobbing for apples and more.
